7zip - errors out when no files found

for those of you who don't know, 7zip is like winzip, but does not have a max. compression size

i have a batch file to backup folders on my server. i use 7zip to compress the files during the backup. however i am having one problem that i have figured out why its happening - when there are empty directories and directory structures, 7zip errors out and does not complete the backup.

the folder in question is an applications folder with folders in it that contain other files and folders within those.

if i put a single file in the first folder it will work, but when it has to descend into the directory structure it errors out.

are there are any known fixes for this??
