Syntax error retreiving hotmail in Outlook

P: 3
Being relatively new to computers, I decided to configure my Hotmail and Yahoo mail with Outlook. Following the instructions, I did what was directed. My Yahoo is perfect - I click on the Yahoo in the folders in Outlook and up comes my mailbox. However, when I click the Hotmail one, I get a window that states that"An error has occurred in the Script, Line-3; Char-1; Error-Syntax Error; Code-0; Url (3 lines long!)" Underneath is a box asking if I want to continue running script on the page Yes or No. I click Yes, the window disappears and all is back to normal!
I took a print of the notice and have it saved for reference.
If anyone has any advice, I will be pleased to read it!

Hello Sashi,
I'm not clever enough to be able to copy the window because it will not 'paste' into this window.
Instead, I will type it for you
It is, as you stated, a script error.

Internet Explorer Script Error
An error has occurred in the script on this page
Line 3
Char 1
Error Syntax error
Code 0
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page
Yes No

That's it

Hi Jay,

am unable to open the link that you attached.. btw.. what is your currently installed IE version? check the option under Tools > Internet Options... just to make sure script access is not blocked..

or perhaps you could reset the settings to default settings value.. give it a try..
happy trying and good luck my fren.. :)

Hello there I too am having the same problem, all of a sudden a few weeks ago I was suddenly unable to reply or forward any of my email via yahoo...then a week later I was also unable to compose a message or access my address book....Today I figured out that I needed to download Netscape, and my yahoo email works perfect in that browser but I still want to try and figure out what the problem is in IE...I am getting the same error message

Line: 190
Character: 4
Error : Object expected
Code: 0

I have already restored the default settings for IE, and contacted Yahoo, who said they could not duplicate the problem...Help me please!!!
Does anyone have any recommendations for me?

Have you been able to fix this problem?

I am having a problem with my Hotmail account. I am getting a syntax error message when the initial list of emails is displayed. I can go to individual emails and look at them, I can click on the reply button and enter my reply, but when I try to click Send nothing happens. The Send button acts like it has been disabled. I can cancel the reply. I can delete the original email. I just cannot use the Send button.
