Display Information based on current date

1
I'm a divorced dad that travels constantly with my job and I wanted a way to let my daughter know where I am. I built a simple little website but it needs a little bit of complexity in order to work. I want to create a database in the form of a calender. I want to be able to set a city, state, and 2 images for a date and have the index page recall the current city, state based on the current date. A non-working example of what I'm trying to achieve can be seen at www.whereismydaddytoday.com . I'm not an engineer by any scretch of the imagination as I'm sure you can see from the site, but I comprehend the coding involved to a degree. I just don't know where to start or how to achieve what I want. My hope is to eventually have a login ability and customizing abilities so that other dads that travel can do the same thing. I would appreciate any assistance that I can get on getting this to work. Remember though, for my sake, the more simple the better. Thanks for any help you can provide.
