11 years? Wow .. how'd you move from drumming to software development/programming?

Also are you in a band or something? I've always wanted to play a music, Piano in particular.

One night on my way out of the auditorium I slammed it in the door and thus ended my musical career. I am hoping progrmming will work out better for me.

Every now and then I think of teaching myself keyboard, maybe someday I will have time for that sort of thing.

Suzee, Which instrument did you slam?

Also as an open question; does having the experience of playing music make one a better software engineer / programmer?

I slammed my violin of course. Though not on purpose. I have no idea whether my musical experience makes me a better or worse programmer I seem to be equally bad at both. I think I understood music better, I just couldn't make it sound like I wanted. Yeah 'bout like my programs. They just won't do what I want.

i've been playing guitar for 9 years & bass as a pro for 3. i've played in a couple of bands, currently in 2 different rock bands with most of the same members. 1 of those bands is due to release an album in the next 2 months or so. does it make me a better programmer? hopefully :)
