"Messages crashes on opening the app."

Only account I have connected is iMessage from ipad & phone.

Using Mac OS X 10.8.2

Does anyone know what is causing this error?

It's followed by this message once you click ignore or reopen:
"The last time you opened Messages, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to "

Found the the problem:

it's the "File:///" bug

somehow there is a imessage conversation that has that text in it, and it causes a crash

a good way to find out what's causing the crashes is go use spotlight and type in "Console" which should list the Console app.

Launch it
and on the left hand side of the console interface you'll see "User Diagnostic Reports". There should be a list of crash reports that will help you diagnose what's causing the problems.
