How to change the Admin Password

Hi, how do i change the admin password in Mac OS X?
I've read all the tutorials on the internet, but i
dont have the instalation disk. Is there any other
way to change the admin password? If anyone can help
me, that would me great! i need to install some anivirus
software, but need the admin password, Thanks ~

AFAIK, you need either the installation disk or the current admin password.

Do you know if the root user is enabled? How do you log in, with a drop down of user names or two text boxes?

the root user is not enabled to log-in. you would have to use sudo/su to get temporary root access.
