what is signal(7) man page means

Hello Friends,

I came through the sentence "refer signal(7) man page". here for what the "7" stands for? when I type "man signal" the top of the man pages shows signal(2). so its mean a new version? please help?

there are multiple levels of manpages, to access man signal(7) you can do:
$> man 7 signal

What these levels represent I cannot recall

After installing man-pages on my Fedora 13, that ( " man 7 signal " ) did the job. Thank you.
