Internet doesn't work (using router)

I have installed Kubuntu 7.04 (64-bit) today. And everything is fine except for the inetrnet that doesn't work. It goes as far as a connection to the router (TopCom SkyR@cer WBR 354G) but I can't get to the actual internet. The router is secured with WEP, and strangely I can get to the internet when I run Kubuntu from the liveCD. Any ideas?

Well, if you are running WEP, did you configure Ubuntu with your key so it can get an IP address? Check if you are connected to the router. Do an "ifconfig -a eth0" and see if you have an IP address.

Never mind, I already went back to windows. After all I went away to get rid of the problems, not to get some more. I know this is just a minor one, but a whole lot more where there during the installation. And off course the fact that my favorite game wouln't work on linux helped a whole lot :P

To help with the game issue, have you considered Wine or another Windows emulator? The compatibility has gotten pretty good. As to wireless, well, Linux wireless is one of those annoying things you really need to work at. Googling the distro+wireless card model can be a big help...

It's a cable-network. And maybe next month, because I've used quite a lot of my downloadcapacity with getting my programs and stuff back.
