start sybase from bash script in /etc/rc3.d

2
Hi I've found that my script to start sybase isn't working at all.

Infact, with some debugging, I've found that it's dying here at the first variable defenition (I found this by logging messages to a file, the script is being called, and a echo message is appearing in the file but the echo message after the first "export variable" statement doesn't appear.

Any help? I know nothing about bash, but can script in ksh and I can't figure this out.

-------------------------------------
#!/bin/bash
#ident "@(#)sql 1.1 6/25/96 /* SVr4 2.5 */

#$DSQUERY is always SYB_<FULLY CAPITALIZED SHORT HOSTNAME>
export DSQUERY=SYB_`uname -n | tr "[a-z]" "[A-Z]"`

<< doesn't get to here

Resolved - the "export" part breaks when running in the init sequence.

Thanks,
