Can anyone help me in writing following Unix shell script

I want to Create a UNIX scripts, which will run in background and will do following activities:

1. Check for certain files, which will start with given names, in a define location. The name and location will be passed as a parameter. If such files is found, then send an email to specific person.
2. Check for certain files, which will start with given names, in a define location. If such file is found and its size cross a define threshold, then send an email to specific person. The name, location, threshold size will be passed as a parameter.
