Go to the file, and type 'pwd' in the command line - that will show the absolute path to the directory, and you can just append the filename to the end of that.

if you don't know where the path is, but you know the file name

find / -type f -name "yourfilename" -print

Locate is also a good option, if you are running the updates regularly.
