yes, there are variety of ways. If you have shared out the windows directory, you can use smbclient from unix to connect to the share. If you want an interactive terminal, and you have enabled terminal services in windows, you can use telnet. If you have SSH installed, you can use SSH.

Another program to look into is Samba.

the OP needs to connect from UNIX to Windows, so I don't think he requires Samba. what he needs is just the client.
If OP needs to connect from Windows to UNIX, then Samba can be used, so that he can share out Unix directories for access from Windows clients.

Sir,

How is SAMBA being used or can be used while you are using WIndows XP with FEDORA Core installed in the same pc?

How can I open the files or the drive of linux in WinXP? Like while inside the Fedora, I used the 'mount' to access the FAT32 drive. Thanks very much.

FYI.

In Windows, if you want to share files/folders, you turn on "Files and Printer sharing". This uses SMB protocol. But it only is windows protocol. In order to share out folders in Unix to the Windows clients, you install Samba, which implements the SMB protocol for Unix/Linux. That way, you are able to access folders in Unix from Windows. If you have WinXP and Fedora installed on the same PC, but is dual boot, no way you can access. But if you installed Linux as virtual machine while running XP, then possible to access.
to mount ntfs file system, you can download and install ntfs-3g.

Is VNC for SPARC Solaris 6 still available?

How can I adjust VNC in order not to slow down too much UNIX CPU?

Is possible to control programs running on SPARC with installed Solaris 6
from WIndow XP another way than via VNC?

Thank you ;))
