How do you input lsnrctl in a shell script to set the password?

goldenjt
We currently have an HP-UX 11.11 OS and Oracle 9.2 database. I am trying to automate a script in which it will stop the listener, for to complete a cold backup of the database.
We have the listener restricted/secured with a password.
So we must run set password inside LSNRCTL.
It will then prompt for the password.
I need to know how to put it into a UNIX shell script and answer this prompt correctly so I can successfully shut down (stop) the listener on the server. This step needs to be automated so user interaction is not required to be present.
Thank you for your help and assistance.

Very Respectfully,
Joe

I think you need to explain better what you are looking for.
I could not reconcile the two contradictory requirements I quoted above.
