Kernel Compilation

Hi,

I am new to linux environment, and I would like to know if i can compile the kernel (2.6.14) downloaded from www.denx.de on a PC with linux 2.4 kernel.

You should be able to compile it just fine, however, if you are trying to upgrade your kernel, the best idea is to stick with the kernels released by your distro.
