how do you get the scanner talking to your app? barcode reading is not something built into JS.

Attaching scanner cable to usb port of computer and scanning the barcode,

it is populating in textbox which have focus.

then it’s something your OS/browser provides. and from the description it won’t work then on read-only fields since the scanner effectively works like a user typing in the number himself.
