testing the availability of a font

Hi folks,

Does somebody know how to test the availability of a font on the browser
platform ?

No. Can't be done in a normal browser.

You should provide fallbacks instead, using the CSS font-family
property:
font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;
