This code fails on IE but works with Netscape / Mozilla

P: n/a
<script language="Javascript1.1" type="text/javascript">
function xso_popup(url,name,options)
{
var cw=window.open(url,name,options);
cw.opener=this;
cw.focus();
}

Link :

<a href="javascript:xso_popup('http://www.somewebsite.com/images/image 239.jpg','Enlarged View','width=300,height=300,scrollbars,resizable') ">
What could be wrong ?? I just get a "Error on page" error with some gripe
about arguments.

Left to myself, I would not even bother about IE, but its the most popular
browser out there, and I need to get this to work with IE as well.

With total disregard for any kind of safety measures "Madhusudan
Singh" <sp**************@yahoo.com> leapt forth and uttered:
<script language="Javascript1.1" type="text/javascript">
function xso_popup(url,name,options)
{
var cw=window.open(url,name,options);
cw.opener=this;
cw.focus();
}

Link :

<a
href="javascript:xso_popup('http://www.somewebsite.com/images/ima
ge 239.jpg','Enlarged
View','width=300,height=300,scrollbars,resizable') ">
What could be wrong ?? I just get a "Error on page" error with
some gripe about arguments.

You'll probably get better results in a Javascript group....

In article <pa****************************@yahoo.com>, "Madhusudan Singh"
<sp**************@yahoo.com> writes:

language attribute is deprecated. Drop it. Its not whats causing you problems
though.
function xso_popup(url,name,options)

var cw=window.open(url,name,options);
cw.opener=this;

Remove the space from your window name, instead of "Enlarged View", name it
EnlargedView or Enlarged_View but no spaces. Also, read
http://www.jibbering.com/faq/#FAQ4_24 with regards to the improper use of
href="javascript:

The space in the window name is the argument it is "griping" about.
