Link activation followed by popup

P: n/a
Hi all,

I'm looking at a situation whereby I have to get something from the
server *before* I can do a popup (with the stuff I got from the server).
It basically has to take place in *1* click action. So, click goes to
server, comes back and pops up a window with retrieved data in a
different html page.

Its probably relatively simple but 4 now I seem to be missing the right
corner.

TIA,

i don't know what exactly you wanna do, but it looks like you want the
server to respond with a certain pop-up that depends on the
click-action. javascript is a client-based language, so your click
does't "go" to the server at all, but stays inside the browser. your
pop-up href goes to the server. so you could transport information ie.
via the query string, but you probalbly need php or some other
server-based solution to respond accordingly.
