Yet another form validation question

7
My site has the form:

header
iframe content (various pages depending upon which nav button the user clicks)
footer

One of the content pages is a contact form that the user fills out.
I'm trying to test it, feeding it goofy data, but the return (which I do believe is coming back false, as expected) isn't resulting in the form being returned so I can see the error div's innerHTML.

It could be because I'm using an iframe to display the contact form, but I'm not sure where the problem is.

Since I'm just testing the bad input right now, I still have my school form handler url in there, but it shouldn't come into play since the validation isn't passing (or shouldn't be).

Any suggestions/corrections greatly appreciated,
Maffy

Can you post the code or a link?

Have to add txt to the end of my code files, or they won't attach. At least I think that's why the files weren't already attached.

This was originally a project for a class my husband took, but now he's trying to make it something he can actually use. He asked me to help, and it's been interesting.

Thanks so much!

my advice for your site: drop the iframe. your hosting service provides PHP and Perl at least, so inserting header/footer is no problem (and you have to process the form anyway, also if no Javascript is available)

and please remove the "Raves" link, Lorem Ipsum is not what I expected to read there.

photos. do make an appropriate sized version, takes way faster to load (saving traffic and money)

[EDIT] better form design using CSS:
pretty forms @ ALA
fancy forms @ sitepoint

I took the iframe out of the contact form, but it's my husband's site and I just promised I'd help him do a couple of things. I'm not going rewrite everything.

Lorem Ipsum was allowed on his final. Just a placeholder for scanning - which is why the site is on the server I use for school. Would have used his, but didn't know his password.

Thanks for your input - and for the comment about the photos. For some reason, he doesn't see it on his machine, but they are very slow to load on mine.

Thanks,
Maffy

@maffy
it all is a matter of time, if you don’t do it now you’ll have to do it later (including interests). and you’ll also have to deal with all the frame issues.

Understood, but he can rewrite it or deal with the frame issues.
I just said I'd add in some scripting for validation. After that, it's all his! :)
