Select different Printer for different documents

4
Hi All,

I am writing a web-based system with php. There are some labels and reports printing. Each requires different printers which are connected to the same client computer.

How could I set so that, when I click a "Print Doc A" button, document A would print to printer A, and click "Print Doc B" button, document B would print to printer B.

info: It is a web-base system used within a lan. So each user use the system with a fixed computer.

with javascript you cannot do that ... javascript's print() method just calls the native print-dialog of the browser and the user needs to choose the printer.

but it might be that you could send the docs from the server to a specific printer when you know the users ip ... its connected printers and then the ip of the printer in question ... but that is no more a javascript question then ...

kind regards
