Freeze browser like a window.alert()

is there a way to freeze broser the same way a window.alert() does?

what exactly u need? can you explain the scenario? a prompt will freeze the browser just like alert. or you can disable the whole body ... we can help you if you give a clear cut idea of what exactly you need
