how to remove toolbar and menu bar from a jsp page

how to remove toolbar and menubar of a jsp page i tried to use window.toolbar.visible=false not working and giving some javascript error
window.open(attributes) will not because i don't want to open a new window
i want to remove existed window toolbar and for IE6

This is not possible. You can only do this for newly opened windows using window.open().
