capture REMOTE_USER

How can I capture the REMOTE_USER via javaScript?

I want to store the value as part of the record key.

Use a server-side language and set a JavaScript variable using that language.

So there is no way to capture that information on the Client side before the data is transmitted to the server?

Ok now I get it. capture the user when they request the page on the server and incorporate that into the page being served up.
