Opening a new IE window in different process?

P: 31
All,

Is it possible to open a new window of IE 7 in a different process? When I use window.open(...), it does not create a new process.

I would like to open a new window so it is not tied to the old window so I can start a long process (new window) and it won't interfere with navigation on the old window.

Thx

you can use ...
window.open(url,'_blank',styles);
it will open a window in a new window each time.

javascript has no 'multithreading'-capabilities so i guess you cannot really control the way a browser handles the script-code ... but i just doubt that ... and don't know exactly ... may be there is something to find at developer.mozilla.org ... something like this ?

kind regards
