autocomplete textbox hangs after first char has been typed in

Hi,
I really don't know where else to look. I am working on an ajax application and got it working up to a point by referring to numerous websites and learning javascript as I went along.

I use a text box as an autocomplete search area and upon typing a name, I then get a list of contacts from a sql database and display the info in a grid using javascript.

So far so good. It allows me to type in the textbox and as I type, the list of contacts change to reflect the chars typed in.

But as soon as I introduce an image (an icon to show that some notes exist for a particular contact) which I get from the database, I can only enter one character in the text box and then I lose the cursor and everything hangs!

I can't see what is wrong and don't understand this behaviour.

Can someone please throw some light on this.

Many thanks

Please post your code, or a link to a test page.

Just to say I managed to resolve the issue! I am developing this application in Visual Studio 2003 and have been using the internal browser. I tried browsing it with IE and guess what? It works!

Thanks for your time anyway.

That's good to hear, but I will say that not only is not a good idea to test only in an internal browser, you should also check other browsers such as Firefox, Opera, Safari etc. IE is not the only browser.
