as far as i could see this is an IE-only editor? ... for such an IE solution there might be some ActiveX controls out there that could help you with saving a screen like this but you cannot do that with javascript cross-browser-like. in case the editor produces markup or a kind of vector-images then you could try to send the parameters to the server and handle it there to create an image from those params ...

kind regards

since i don't use IE (and even cannot on a MAC) i cannot check your links ... but you could/should just use your local machine as a server, install an apache and configure it to work with php or whatever serverside language and adapt the script from your link to your needs ... so the serverside script runs on your local machine and could write the file to your local filesystem ...

hi
thanks for the reply but that wont help my cause
because i m using ms access as database and html javascript to write and read data on stand alone machine and so if i try to use a server style to do all the things i need to change all the code also:)
what i m trying to do is that the user write the details and draw the image and save the record.so when we retrieve the record the data + image number saved in the database comes up and with the help of javascript i can link that with the image name saved on the computer
smile always:)

hmmm ... so i'm out :) ... what you certainly do is using activeX and use that with microsoft's jscript ... so that usage is a bit far away from standards that probably another expert might help you ... it's a very specific MS-technology-related question ... but not a real JavaScript-one.

good luck in finding a solution to this ... hopefully someone with more MS-experiences regarding this problem will jump in here ...

god bless you:)
well yes maybe that is the way to get some help in this :)
i searched and read that vml is only meant for ie and support all functions and only after knowing that i searched the editor and asked for help

link : - http://variomatic.quickhost.nl/graffiti/editor.htm
is actually saving the image but have two problems
1.it is saving the image on to the server
2.the code is written in dutch and i m not a good programmer so m unable to locate where to i sud ammend it to be able to save the image on to local computer

i have also come across this link

http://www.nihilogic.dk/labs/canvas2image/
which is similar to the editor but is made using canvas tag which is not having full functions support for ie:(((.it also has a feature where i can save the image in jpg, gif, bmp format.

what i m looking for only two things have to be done
1.when i click on save it saves the image in any of the format gif,jpg or png
2.it saves the file with the name like 1.jpg and next time auto increment to 2.jpg searching from the directory from local machine.

any idea how to do this?
smile always:)
