window.open() lost session after closing the new window

Hello guys!

I am using JavaScript's window.open(...) to pop up a extra window for my users back office. The main site uses session objects for authentication.

The problem is: when I close the new window that I have opend with window.open(), the main window suddently looses his session.

Typicaly this don't happens with Firefox, but it does with IE7.

Is there anything I can do about? Is there a workaround for IE?

Any hints are strongly appreciated!

PS: I found a pretty much identical problem from a guy using PHP. So it seems that its much more a browser problem though.

Is the new window opening from a different domain name? i.e. If the first window is opened from something like http://bob.mydomain.com does the second window open from a different domain? Or does it have includes from anther domain?

Hello!

It is the same domain, and there is no includes oder such using another domain ether.

However - the thing is that now, as I tryed it today, the problem is gone. And it was no joke for 1st april. It was for real, well at least to me.

Now also I had the same problem some weeks ago, but had not time back than to worry about.

Now just tell me that this is typical stuff with web browsers and drive me nuts. :)

However, thank you for your reply!
