save data in excel using javascript

hi,
i am trying to export data to excel from html using javascript, but i am getting an error as it opens saveas window. Please do the needful

i am trying to export data to excel from html using javascript, but i am getting an error as it opens saveas window. Please do the needful
try vbscript, using the COM object for handling excel files.... what is it .... createObject("Microsoft.Excel") ? I can't remember....

sum of it is, can't use javascript for something like this due to javascript's inability to save to the client's filesystem
