Hi

I need to make a file (an .html file) to be placed on my Desktop. When clicked, my desired URL will open in internet browser.

How can i do it with javascript or if it can be done by just using html - it would be easier?

Awaiting your responce

Thanks
Qi

just create a new desktop-shortcut with the url ... that opens the browser and navigates to the page ...

kind regards

ps: or are you asking for creating the shortcut with javascript? if that is the case - it is not possible with javascript ...

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

I have further question related to my previous question.

There are some web-pages, which i can not make a url shortcut for.

For example, this website: www.kse.com.pk
On left hand side of kse.com.pk main page, see 'Market Summary'
and i want to make a shortcut for its link: www.kse.com.pk/kse4/phps/mktsummary.php

When i create its shortcut and open it, the browser goes back to the main page instead of this specified web-page.

It looks like if there are some restriction on this website that stops user to go onto some of its web-pages directly ??

Please help how to make direct link to this web-page

Thanks
Qi

If there is any restriction from web site itself then you cannot make shortcut link for that page.

You may not make a shortcut for this site.
They are using server side script to redirect to the index page (which you see when you click on the created shortcut).

The page only works when called in an iframe from this main page.

So, I guess it not possible to make a shortcut for this particular page.
