Server side scripting with Javascript

21
I built a web page form, where the action is set to "mailto" to my email address. I already scripted the client side using Javascript and I wish to know if I can use Javascript for server side scripting as well?

I do not know PHP or Perl and prefer not to learn another scripting language, simply, because I have not the time.

Thanks for any comment.

hi ...

you have to extend the webserver with a module ... have a look here ... so: it might be possible ... but not without something to do that the server is able to handle it :)

kind regards

I know around 6 different languages very well. (basic, Java, perl, C++, Pascal, korn-shell-script), and I know a dozend others good. From my experience I must say that clientside Javascript and serverside Javascript are so different that it is the same effort to learn it as to learn two different languages!
If you would learn JSP (Java) instead, you would be quicker! (more support, better library, faster code, lesser chance to make errors etc.).
Sorry but you MUST spend some time in learning, there is no way around!
