Make a website with mail facilities

Hello all,
i am new in JAVA.

I am going to make a website like yahoo and others having mail facilities.
But i don't know how can i update and use databases made in Access can be used in websites using JAVA script.
Can i do this in VB6 making an activex?

Firstly, Java is not JavaScript. There are two very different languages. I've changed the title of this thread.

Secondly, JavaScript is client-side and to update a database, you will need to use a server-side language, e.g. PHP, ASP, Perl, JSP, Coldfusion...

Thirdly, don't use ActiveX on a public website. It will only work in IE, which means that many users using alternative browsers will not be able to use your site.
