Unterminated String Constant

I am getting the following string from the database using Java

[PHP]Text <p>hi m</p>

<p>Do Something</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>[/PHP]

that I have to load into a javascript based rich text editor.

But i am getting error "Unterminated String Constant."

I tried to replace all &nbsp;, line break with the space like below but no luck yet....

[PHP]questioncontent=questioncontent.replaceAll("/(\n\r|\n|\r)/gm","<br>");[/PHP]
