tool to draw lines/curves on a image in the webpage

Hello Friends,

I am working on a web application in which I have a map loaded on the
page and I am required to dynamically draw points, lines, curves on
the map to show a location, road etc.

Kindly tell me if these is a javascript/ajax library/tool to perform
such actions.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Sagar,

If you need anything more than a few images floating over you map, you
are in trouble.
JavaScript is NOT a full fledged image-editing/rendering tool.

However, something like that is possible.
I wrote one for fun, and found a few other on the net.
They use small absolute positioned divs to mimic a pixel, but that
really sucks (speed/memory wise), and is bound to fail on any low-end
computer.
And if you draw enough 'pixels' it is bound to fail on any computer. ;-)

I would advise you to boil the functionality needed down to a few simple
forms, eg set a beginpoint and endpoint on your map with a nice
crosshair or something like that.
You can use an image to show these points.

For any futher serious drawing you'll have to go serverside.
