Forward to another site, beginners question

I have a very basic web site when somebody reaches it I want the site
to display a message saying "you will be forward to another site in 10
seconds". Then in 10 seconds forward to another site. How can I do
this easily?

Thanks

Use a setTimeout call along with window.location.href. Search the archives.

Or, find a site that does it and view the source before it redirects.

I wouldn't recommend it, if a message is important enough for the user
to read, then it is important enough to leave on screen until they
click a link to the next page. If it isn't that important, just use a
regular HTTP redirect.
