can a panel be added ad a node in a tree?

hello,

I'm very new to javascript and seem to be taking a lot of time getting
things to work :( I have to use YUI to build a page. Basically when
the page loads, it has a list of elements from the server. It then has
to show each of these elements in a panel along with other attributes
of the element. Each of these panels should have a button to allow the
user to obtain more detailed info about the element. So when th euser
clicks on this button, another request if sent to the server for more
info and this additional info should be added to another panel and
added as a 'child' in a sort of tree structure under the original
panel. Something like this:

element 1
add info abt 1
even more info abt 1
element 2

Now otehr than the panels containing the1st level info namely
'element', all other panels should be expandable n collapsible. I was
wondering if I could represent using a treeview element but am not
sure if I can add a panel as a node instead of a textnode. I hv 2
questions: Any other possible ways to represent this data?
Is it possible to hv panels as nodes in the tree?

Thanks in advance

and you say you are very new in JS ?

You mean like this :

of what I've understood (with a quick over read) is that a panel is not
more than a div with an id.
From there I supose you can add what you want to this div
(or to its son : <div class='bd').

Unfortunately, you don't know what Usenet is.

Then try a YUI group. I think you said you tried and nobody
responded, but it is hard to tell as you didn't indicate what you were
replying to.

Thanks a bunch David. Will try that option and get back to you in case
I get stuck again.
