help with file post method

P: n/a
I have a script that is calling a file trough a function.
What i wish to do is the person selected a file to open inside that
function dinamically is it that possible without using a window.prompt to
type the file?

What is "calling a file"? Do you want to upload a file from the clients pc
to the server?

What do you want to do with a selected person? Files do not open 'inside' a
function, but could perhaps be opened by code inside a function, do you
mean that?

Perhaps this is your question?

Do you want to write clientside javascript code that lets a user
select a file on the user's [clientside] pc hard drive without that user
typing in the name of that file or selecting it from the popup list
provided by the browser?

No, that is not possible under normal browser security,
as it would open my hard disk to any criminal hacker that uses such code.

It is irrelevant if such code resides inside a function.
