what object to create in firefox to access a file

what object to create in firefox to access a file in the client system.

hi ...

there is no such object ... for security reasons you cannot and sould not be allowed to access clientside files ... except cookies ...

IE may allow that with activeX ... but thats one of the security-issues with it ... other browsers don't allow that.
