A call for opinions (decorator pattern applied)

Hello,

I am looking for a few opinions. I am exploring creating my own version of those fancy tee shirt designers used by spreadshirt.com, cafepress.com and others. I have a version working of a decorator pattern based upon a text book implementation taken from ActionScript 3.0 Design Patterns - a wiley publication. Now I am curious to know if anyone here has thoughts regarding implementing such an animal in javascript and ajax? Essentially I want to apply imagaes froma pallet to a diagram. I hear talk of libraries that implement drag and drop, and others that give simple samples of working with SVG. But I am missing the arger context of taking on this task?

Thanks
