mozilla focus function problem

to set focus in a text box i have written
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. document.formname.elementname.focus();
I have also tried
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. document.formname.elementname.select();
and
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. document.getElementById('elementname').focus()
but all are working in IE but not in MOZILLA.

please send me if anyone have any idea regarding this.
