Welcome to TSDN!

I think for every Browser selectedIndex works.
Please post some code you tried so far.
Then I will be able to solve your problem.

Kind regards,
Dmjpro.

selectedIndex definately works in FF - the project I am working on uses it in many locations, all of them work.

In what context are you using it? Post the portion of your code which references selectedIndex - I would imagine it's a script error, or you're using it in a manner which does not work in FF.

hi ...

i agree ... selectedIndex is working with every browser i know ... you should have another problem with your code ...

however: an alternative would be to use the value-property of the select-box itself ...

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. var sel_box       = document.getElementById('your_sel_box_id');
  2. var sel_box_value = sel_box.value;
kind regards
