Select area and code of page using Javascript or Ajax

1. Go to http://webwag.com
2. On the left hand side upper corner there is an "Add new Content" button, Click on it.
3. Enter a URL(suppose www.yahoo.com) in New! Widget On DemandTM TextBox and Click Add.
4. A new page is opened and we can see the data from that page (yahoo).

Once we get this snapshot. how are they able to select the data of the area selected from yahoo.

they are using a script from

to select an area from the page displayed.

1. The above script can be used to select an area in the IMAGE, but http://webwag.com is using it to select an area from the SITE. How are they doing it ???

and

2. after the area is been selected they also display that area of web page to the homepage of the user.

Can anyone tell me how are they doing it.

Interesting. This is one of the Web 2.0 sites making use of Ajax.

If you check the src of the iframe that pops up when you add the widget, it's a PHP file which loads the external site, so any cross-domain issues don't apply.
