(Java Script) How can I split a file name?

Hi,

I have a browse button which will give C:\...\...\example.doc

I want the documwnt name.i.e. examle
when i use split function it is not taking the \ character.It is taking this as special character.
var value =form.browse.value;
valuse.split("\");\\ giving error here.

can anybody help me please...
