Moz/FF containsNode analogue for IE?

Is there something like Firefox'es .containsNode method for selections
in IE (or just a way to find this out)? I have a set of nodes, and
need to find out wether any of them are withing selection
(completely). I'm trying to customize TinyMCE(http://
tinymce.moxiecode.com/) a little bit, but my "solutions" are not "MSIE-
friendly".
Thanks

This post proposes a solution. It looks ugly to me and I didn't try
it, but it may give you some ideas.
