Expand/collapse a table

Hi,
I have a hyperlink and onClick of the hyperlink,i have written a javascript function to expand/collapse a table.
But it works fine in my development box,but in the test box,if i click the hyperlink sometimes more than once only ,does it responds and displays the table.What would be the problem?Iam using this javascript in a jsp and IE 6 is my browser and running on server WAS 6.0 ,any help pls?
