validating a date format

Thanks for all the help on all my past posts. This forum is really a jewel. I need to be able to use a DOB to calculate a person's age. So, I need to be able to restrict data to the format mm/dd/yyyy. Can anybody help?

You could use regular expressions. Alternatively, split the date into three fields which allows you to validate much more easily. One other possibility is to use dropdown boxes.
