Accessaing Viewstate in javascript

1
Hi all,

I m new to javascript and web development for that matter, so, my questions may sound dumb...........but i will really apperciate any solution ASAP as i m facing a deadline............

my 1st problem is i have two TEXTBOXES in my ASP.NET page. one is a normal control, other is a READ-ONLY field . On certain event i m toggling(interchanging) the text values of both the textboxes using javascript and i m using the hidden fields to store the data. this is working fine, problem is when a POSTBACK event happens ( SelectedIndexChange of a dropdownlist or page refresh in my case) , the readonly textbox will have the intial value, not the changed one. if i m not wrong this is because when i assigning a value to READONLY textbox using javascript , its VIEWSTATE doesn't get modify and in POSTBACK situation the the VIEVSTATE value get populated and thus, i m losing my changed data. so, is there any way i can modify the TEXTBOX viewstate in the same javascript function or do u ppl have any other solution in mind............

Thanx in advance..........
