Keeping JavaScript state consistent between page refreshes

I have a basic tabbed user interface that is presented to the user in a web browser using javascript and dhtml. I have script in place that allows the user to dynamically add sub tabs on the fly via dhtml and javascript. The problem comes when they hit the refresh button all of the content that they added disappears. I can't think of a way around this, since disabling the refresh button is undesirable. Does anyone have a good approach to stop this from happenning?

Thanks for the help.

Changed thread title to better describe the problem (did you know that threads whose titles contain phrases such as, 'help please' actually get FEWER responses?).

Heya, cgswtsu78. Welcome to TSDN!

The best way I can think of would be to set the cookie every time you change the document's state. When the page loads, you can check for the cookie and reset the page state based on its value.
