HI

I was studying a code , while i found following line

onclick="javascript: $$('div.ka_msgb_formActivate a')[0].fireEvent('click');"

Can anybody explain me what is $$ mean and what is fireEvent and what probably this onclick must be doing?

hi ...

that looks like that the code you studied uses an ajax-framework like prototype.js? have a look at the includes and when you know what framework is used, then you may have a look at its documentation and find out what the call you showed really does. however it looks like selecting an element and attach an eventhandler to it ... it is done through a framework to have simple cross-browser-support for such tasks ... therefore: using a framework is good ;) but you have to know what it does ... so you have to know the framework and its methods ...

kind regards
