applet as an image source

Hello,

is it posible to use an applet as an image source?

something like
<img src="document.myApplet.getImage()">

when getImage() function in the applet returns a png image as
ByteArrayOutputStream ?

I experimented, but without success.
The idea is to open a new window with applet graphics as png, which
may be easily copied to clipboard.
