compare problem?!

I have two strings:
anchor & imageLink
And I want to compare them
/////////////////////////////////
if (anchor == imageLink ) {alert('Hello baby!')}
////////////////////////////////
But it doesnt work. Why? Can anybody help me?

please post more code ... especially that, where you assign the values and call the comparison ... with those you posted we are not able to help you ... because the following works ;)

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. if ('test' == 'test' ) {
  2.     alert('Hello baby!')
  3. }
  4.  
so the values simply shouldn't be equal in your case? did you expect something other? what is the error?
